PLANKTON NETS Model 9000 - Straight Conical
SEA-GEAR
Model 9000 Plankton Nets are designed for the safe and secure capture
of marine biological specimens. Each net is carefully manufactured using
only the finest and strongest synthetic materials available. Precision
woven Nylon or Polyester filtering cloth is used for straining. The net
mouth collar, optional belly band and cod
end collar are made with heavy weight high performance fabrics resistant
to abrasions, tears and scuffs. Extremely strong red, white and blue webbing
join the net together. All seams are quadruple stitched. Brass spur grommets
are equally spaced around the net mouth collar to facilitate lashing the
net to the mouth ring. SEA-GEAR’S unique adjustable cod end collar
allows each net to accept a variety of cod end devices.
This combination of skilled workmanship, innovativeness and durable materials makes the SEA-GEAR Model 9000 an extra heavy duty net suitable for obtaining samples under the harshest conditions through horizontal towing or vertical collections.
Available in mouth diameters of 30, 50, 60, 75 and 100 cm. Each net is available in customary length to mouth ratios of 3:1, 4:1, 5:1 and 6:1. Although the sizes listed above are considered standard, SEA-GEAR Model 9000 Plankton Nets can be custom manufactured to any diameter or length.
Belly Band/Choke Rope Model 9000-BB
SEA-GEAR Model 9000-BB Belly Band is
a high performance fabric band with equally
spaced nylon 
purse
rings sewn around the perimeter of the net a distance away from the collar.
When tripped by a net release, the bridle disengages and drops below the
level of the Belly Band. Simultaneously, the Belly Band tightens, choking
off all entry to the net.
Because of the necessary modifications to the net, the Belly Band option must be specified at the time the net is ordered.
